ExpertTek Services and Rates
We offer our diagnostic and repair services at extremely competitive rates. Our rates are listed below, separated into two main categories:
On-site - services in which the entirety of the labor involved is performed at your location.
Pickup/Dropoff - this involves coming out to collect your equipment and bringing it back to be serviced in-house, then coming back out to drop it off to you. This option is slightly more affordable, but generally means you will be without your computer longer, as it requires a second appointment for dropoff of your system after work is completed.
Please note that some jobs may require switching from an On-site arrangement to a Pickup/Dropoff situation based on the nature of and time required to complete certain tasks.
Onsite Labor rates:

Diagnostics: $60 (only billed if no other labor is billed, otherwise included in applicable labor charges). Using tested and proven tools and techniques, we determine what is wrong, whether it can be fixed or not, and how much and about how long to fix it if we can.

Labor for Hardware install*: $90 (includes needed drivers/software), plus parts. Got a new device for your computer? We can make sure it gets installed and configured properly for optimal performance.

Data recovery/backup services (w/ cust supplied storage): $80 for 1st hour, $40/hr after. Have you ever endured the pain and frustration of losing everything on your computer? Music, Videos, and irreplaceable pictures? Or maybe you accidentally deleted some absolutely critical files? We can sometimes recover deleted items, and we can back up your most crucial files and data so that if catastrophe does strike, you will have the peace of mind knowing that your data is safe. You will need to provide some form of storage for this service, whether it be an external hard drive, blank CDs/DVDs, a USB flash drive, or a network storage device.

Virus/Malware removal: $90 for 1st hour, $50/hr after. These days, unfortunately, hackers and cyber-scam artists have made the internet a hostile and dangerous place for most computer users. With all the viruses and malware circulating throughout the web, even the best protected systems can become infected. If you have reason to think your computer is compromised, STOP ANY ONLINE TRANSACTIONS IMMEDIATELY. You may also wish to disconnect your computer from the internet, for maximum safety (don`t cancel your internet service, just unplug your modem or router). There are a number of ways to handle infections, and the safest and fastest involve wiping the computer clean and starting fresh. This is often not an option for many people, as they have files and data that have not been backed up, or important programs which they no longer have the ability to re-install. In these situations the best option is to scour the system, find the infection(s), and attempt to remove them safely. This is not possible in all situations and sometimes the infection can get so deep in your system that removal will actually cause windows to stop working. In such cases, we waive removal fees, and offer an OS reinstall.

OS reinstall**: $90 plus parts (windows only, includes Hard Drive install labor charge). This is a sure-fire way to correct software issues. If all your hardware is working properly, wiping the system clean and rebuilding windows from scratch will ensure your system is free of infections and corruption, often resulting in a faster system as well. Anything on the computer that is not backed up will be permanently gone. This includes pictures, music, locally stored emails, and documents. All installed programs will be wiped and need to be reinstalled (programs cannot be backed up). If you require backup service, can can do so (at normal backup rates) before wiping the system as long as you have some device to store the backup, whether it be an external hard drive, blank CDs/DVDs, a USB flash drive, or a network storage device. If you do not have a storage device, or you wish to perform the backup yourself, a return appointment can be scheduled to proceed with reinstall once your backup is complete. Travel surcharge will apply for subsequent visits, but any OS install-related charges for original visit will be credited towards completion of the work.

Software/Driver Install: $80 (includes updates). Need a program installed, or a driver for a device updated? We will make sure you have the most up to date version, and ensure they are functioning properly.

UPS/Battery Backup Install: $80 plus parts. Something few people know about or pay much attention to is the quality of electricity going to their computer. Most electrical appliances are fairly resilient when it comes to resisting damage from day to day surges or power fluctuations in a typical home. These events are more common than most people think, and a computer is very sensitive to them. Even if power does not go out, spikes or drops in the electrical current can seriously damage the circuits in your computer. Even if the computer is not turned on. The best way to protect against the broadest range of electrical issues is to install an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) with Battery Backup. This device will monitor the electricity from one wall socket in your home, and regulate it for any devices attached to it. This protects from day to day spikes and drops (lightning strikes or similarly intense events are often beyond the scope of such devices unfortunately), as well as gives you time to finish your work and properly shut down your system should you lose power completely, thus preventing damage to system files due to improper/sudden shutdown.

General System Maintenance/Cleanup/Optimization: $80. Has your system been getting progressively slower and slower? Is your hard drive cluttered? Do you want to tweak your system settings to increase performance? We can tailor our maintenaince, cleanup, and optimization process to your specific needs. Trust us, you will notice a difference.

Small Network Install/Setup: $90 for 1st hour, $50/hr after plus parts (1 router and up to 8 workstations). This service is specifically aimed at getting your home, office, or workspace networked. We will ensure that up to 8 computers are all able to get online with a single internet provider account, as well as share files and printers between them. We will run cables for you, or set up a wireless network at your preference.
