California Equities using OpenClose MTG

California Equities, San Diego, Calif. has launched its OpenClose MTG� private-labeled broker Web portal to help it manage its new third-party wholesale brokerage business. .

California Equities is an 8-year-old mortgage company that began in retail and real estate. It launched its wholesale division about a year ago. Knowing that it needed to jumpstart its efforts in the highly competitive Southern California market, management turned to technology to help it compete with its much larger competitors.

"We've been doing third-party wholesale for about a year and we began looking for something to take us to the next level," says Greg Plummer, Lending Manager. "We were on a tight budget and looking to implement a system quickly. OpenClose MTG fit that bill. It provides the most comprehensive Web solution for loan officers at a very affordable cost. Now, we're able to offer brokers a higher level of service than lenders twice our size can. It's a great competitive advantage." Plummer says he expects to increase the company's wholesale volume by 30% over the coming year.

OpenClose MTG provides Web-based loan origination and document management allowing users to upload loan files (Fannie Mae� or Calyx POINT�) originate loans online (utilizing OpenClose MTG's loan origination software), prequalify borrowers, select loan products, lock rates, process, and prepare loans for closing. It also provides interfaces with automated underwriting engines (DO, DU, and LP) and credit agencies (Equifax and LandAmerica/INFO1). The e-Doc Manager lets users store and access all these loan files, and findings in centralized, Web-based loan folders. The e-Doc Manager can upload and store faxes and/or any digital document in *.txt, *.doc, *.xls, *.gif, *.jpg, *.tif, and *.pdf file format in these same borrower-specific folders.
