Brokers Applaud Kemp, Cisneros For Making Housing Reform Top Priority The National Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB) commends a bipartisan group of housing experts for issuing a joint call to address and remedy the nation’s housing problems. The group, including former Democratic HUD Secretary Henry Cisneros and former Republican HUD Secretary Jack Kemp, advocates tax incentives and expanded funding in a proposal that seeks to find solutions to chronic homelessness, barriers to affordable housing, and predatory lending. “NAMB has always felt that housing issues in this country should not be subject to partisanship, but are important to everyone in our nation,” said NAMB President Bob Armbruster. “All Americans aspire to safe, decent housing and we support this group’s objective of finding solutions to the housing problems this country faces.” ### The National Association of Mortgage Brokers is the voice of the mortgage broker industry with more than 24,000 members in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. NAMB provides education, certification and government affairs representation for the mortgage broker industry, which originates two of every three residential loans in the United States. 8201 Greensboro Drive, Suite 300, McLean, VA 22102 (703) 610-9009 www.namb.org Source: 10/01/2004 MMag 410_028 Company: National Asso of Mortgage Brokers Contact: Karen Tyson , karen.tyson@namb.org , Phone: (703) 610-0260 |
