Fairway New England Mortgage Embraces Non-Traditional Business

Names Vice President of Alternative Lending Division

Fairway New England Mortgage today announced it is expanding its services beyond traditional loans to include an alternative lending division. Headed by newly appointed Vice President Heath Lefort, the division will focus solely on non-traditional financing, bringing this expertise in-house.

Initially, Lefort will help grow Fairway New England, headquartered in Needham, Mass., covering a five-state territory including Massachusetts, Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island and New Hampshire. However, Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation, its parent company, which has always been a traditional lender and referred non-traditional loans out, plans to integrate Lefort's expertise nationally throughout its nearly 100 branches.

'Heath's solid track record of building new business in this specialized niche makes him an ideal team player for Fairway,' said Amy Tierce, president, Fairway New England. Tierce explained that although Lefort will be located in Massachusetts, Fairway's network of branches can enlist his help when encountering customers with non-traditional financing needs.

A top lender herself for more than 15 years, Tierce scouted out Lefort not only for his financial expertise but also the way he holds his customers in the highest regard. 'Heath is a unique individual in a very competitive and grueling industry,' she said. 'He truly cares about his customers financial challenges and uses a great deal of passion and compassion to get the job done. Regardless of our customers financial situations, Fairway is committed to serving all of our clients with the same expertise, care and consideration.'

An 11-year veteran of the mortgage industry, Lefort spent seven years with industry-rival Fleet Boston Financial and three years at Patriot Funding LLC. He has proven his strength in management, personal and team production overseeing a $168 million B/C lending branch and a $15 million conventional branch at Fleet. His focus has always been on helping customers develop goals and strategies to get their troubled finances turned around.
