Colonial Savings Purchases Servicing Rights on $1.7 Billion of Mortgages
Colonial Savings, F.A. announced today that it has completed the purchase of servicing rights on 18,431 residential mortgage loans with a principal balance of approximately $1.7 billion from a Midwest bank. The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) today released its Weekly Mortgage Applications Survey for the week ending April 6, 2007. The minutes from the most recent FOMC meeting showed that the rate-setting body of the Fed wanted more flexibility in setting future rates than many had expected to see. This apparent step back set the markets on edge, driving bond prices down and yields up.
