Comprehensive Home Loan Resource Now Available for Consumers Online

Home Loan Learning Center from the Mortgage Bankers Association Provides Critical Consumer Home Loan Information

The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) today announced the launch of its updated Home Loan Learning Center (www.homeloanlearningcenter.com), an interactive online resource that provides consumers with critical information on mortgages and the home-buying process.

MBA created the Home Loan Learning Center to inform consumers about options that best fit their life circumstances when buying a home.  The Web site provides essential loan, credit and other valuable information using a simple and very user-friendly approach.

"The Home Loan Learning Center is part of MBA`s efforts to make the home-buying process as transparent as possible so that every consumer can get the best possible loan for his or her specific financial situation," said MBA Chairman John M. Robbins, CMB. "HomeLoanLearningCenter.com provides critical and valuable information regardless of a homebuyer`s location or stage of life."

Visitors to the Home Loan Learning Center will learn step-by-step how to seek and obtain the best possible loan for their circumstances.  This information includes:

  • Mortgage basics;

  • A "Mortgage Myth Busters" quiz;

  • How consumers can obtain their credit report so that they understand the type of loan they are eligible for;

  • How consumers can find a lender in their area;

  • Current mortgage rates;

  • A mortgage calculator to determine the cost of a loan;

  • Homeowner success stories; and

  • Links to state, federal, non-profit and consumer Web sites.

"With so many choices available to consumers today, it`s necessary that all homebuyers educate themselves and understand their finances, credit and the home-buying process before they begin shopping for their home and mortgage," said Robbins.  "After all, buyers may be able to save thousands of dollars by making the right choice when it comes to their mortgage, and HomeLoanLearningCenter.com can help make that possible."
