Three former partners in the Chicago law firm Stahl Cowen have announced the formation of a new firm, Staub Anderson Green LLC. David Staub and Christina Green, founding members of Stahl Cowen, and Eric Anderson, who joined that firm in 2005, have moved their practices to the new firm. Staub Anderson Green is located in Suite 1925 at 55 West Monroe Street in Chicago. The firm will also have satellite offices in McHenry County and in Flossmoor. The new firm has already launched its website at http://www.staubanderson.com.

According to Staub, the primary motivation in forming the new firm is to allow the attorneys to better serve their own clients. 'We believe that a smaller firm will enable us to provide more hands-on service to our clients. The result should be services that are both faster and more cost-effective than possible in a larger law firm.'

Although all three attorneys consider themselves business attorneys, they have different backgrounds and have developed different areas of expertise. Says Green, 'The collective strengths that three of us bring to our new firm give us the ability to offer a full range of legal services to our business clients.'

Staub practices primarily in the areas of corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, technology law, tax law and commercial finance. A graduate of Harvard Law School, he began his 30 years of practice at the international law firm of Mayer Brown. Subsequently, he was at Shefsky & Froelich, where he served as head of its corporate department. Most recently, in 2001 he was a founding member of Stahl Cowen and served as the chair of its corporate practice group.

Staub is a former chair of the Chicago Bar Association Corporations and Business Law Committee. He is also a Trustee of the Glenkirk Foundation.

Anderson devotes a large amount of his practice to acting as general counsel to not-for-profit organizations, Illinois park districts, and closely held for-profit corporations. Anderson also specializes in estate planning and estate administration, including probate.

A Michigan native, Anderson began the practice of law in that state in 1993. He practiced with the Chicago law firm of Overgaard & Davis from 1995 until he joined Stahl Cowen in 2005. Anderson is a commissioner of the Crystal Lake Park District.

Green concentrates her practice in commercial and corporate finance, acting as lender's and borrower's counsel, and in commercial real estate, including acquisitions and development, leasing and condominiums.

Prior to becoming a founding member of Stahl Cowen in 2001, Green practiced with the Chicago law firms Vedder Price and Holleb & Coff.
