Florida's First Up Front Mortgage Broker to Lead Local Quest for Straight Talking Mortgage Advice

Florida Mortgage Broker Stephen Parnell of Boca Raton based LynxBanc elected an officer of the Upfront Mortgage Brokers Association (UMBA)

'Being the first Florida mortgage broker to join the upfront mortgage broker's movement in 2001 was a very positive step for us at LynxBanc. We have long sought to eradicate the deceptive practices that play a part in the mortgage business, of which Florida has seen its share, particularly in regard to the advertising of artificially low mortgage rates, closing costs and fees. The Upfront Mortgage Brokers Association (UMBA) is a non-profit organization that was created to develop a code of standards for mortgage professionals, develop a monitoring process for UMBs to ensure their adherence to the code of standards and to promote the use of UMBs as a way of increasing the efficiency of the home loan market and curbing predatory lending practices.
