Webster Lowers Prime Lending Rate to 4.50 Percent

Webster Bank, National Association, a subsidiary of Webster Financial Corporation (NYSE:WBS) , announced today that it has lowered its prime lending rate to 4.50 percent from 5.00 percent effective today. Webster last changed its prime rate on April 30, 2008.
