REOMAC PRESIDENT SHARES 2009 INITIATIVES
National Default Association’s Leadership Strives to Enhance Educational Offerings and Address Members’ Needs
REOMAC®, the premier not-for-profit trade association serving the mortgage default industry nationwide, recently named Shelley Kaye as president for the second year in a row. Kaye and her board are excited to share their initiatives for 2009. During the next year, REOMAC will dedicate time and energy to enhancing education, staying abreast of legislation, and increasing member benefits.
“In an effort to continue the momentum from last year, we want to expand educational alternatives and offer other new member benefits and move forward. REOMAC plans to stay on the cutting edge of the default industry through emphasis on education and exploring opportunities to grow.”
– Shelley Kaye, President, REOMAC
In an interview, Kaye can expand on the following key initiatives for REOMAC:
Address Member & Industry Needs: The number of foreclosures and REO properties continue to grow every day. In order to meet the needs of the industry and consumers alike, REOMAC has developed a new committee. The Commercial Real Estate Committee will help REOMAC better serve the private sector of the default industry. In addition, REOMAC will monitor the industry and develop other committees and groups as needed.
Staying Abreast of Legislation: With the mortgage default industry constantly changing, Kaye feels it is important to remain up-to-date on new legislation. REOMAC members are vital in the default industry with knowledge and ideas that could assist legislative actions. Along with the board, Kaye will keep an eye on legislation and regulations that may affect its members.
Implement Online Education Programs –REOMAC members are busy, hardworking default professionals. However, Kaye recognizes the need and desire for continuing education. Online education and webinars will provide more opportunities for these professionals to grow and stay up-to-date on current trends
Kaye is currently serving her sixth year on the REOMAC Board of Directors. Previously, she has served as secretary, treasurer and sponsor chair. Kaye also holds a position with InSource Financial Services, LLC. She has been a licensed REALTOR® for more than 20 years, and prior to entering the mort¬gage banking field, sold residential properties in South¬ern California.
