SIMPLIFILE EXPANDS ELECTRONIC RECORDING ACROSS MINNESOTA
Simplifile today announced that Martin County, Wabasha County, and Wadena County, Minnesota will begin electronically recording (e-recording) land record documents submitted by title companies, abstractors, banks, and attorneys through the Simplifile e-recording service the week of May 18, 2009.
E-recording is the process of submitting, receiving, and processing documents for recording via the Internet that have traditionally been sent to the county for recording by runner, express mail, or courier service. E-Recording simplifies and accelerates all aspects of the recording process and dramatically improves the county’s ability to serve its constituents.
Additionally, E-Recording allows Minnesota counties to ‘go green’ by participating in a fully electronic recording process. The e-recording paperless process not only saves paper, it also eliminates the fuel used to send documents to and from the county. Those counties that have fully embraced electronic recording also report improved efficiency and immediate cost savings.
“As we move into the future, our system processes are all going paperless. E-Recording fits perfectly into this system,” said Martin County Recorder and Property Recorders Industry Association Committee Board Member and Committee Co-Chair, Kay Wrucke. “The benefits of e-recording are incredible. Recording speed and turnaround is extremely fast and saves valuable processing time for both the county and customer.”
To demonstrate e-recording to the public, each County Recorder’s Office will host an e-recording kick-off meeting.
The Martin County Recorder’s Office will host a kick-off meeting on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Martin County Court House located at 201 Lake Ave., Fairmount, Minnesota.
The Wabasha County Recorder’s Office will host a kick-off meeting on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the Wabasha County Board of Commissioners Room located at 411 Hiawatha Drive, Wabasha, Minnesota.
The Wadena County Recorder’s Office will host a kick-off meeting on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at The County Courthouse Auditorium located at 415 South Jefferson Street, Wadena, Minnesota.
'Simplifile is pleased to participate with Minnesota county recorders and their local software application vendors to implement e-recording solutions that immediately recognize cost savings to the county,” said Dallen Miner, Vice President of Simplifile. “By working closely with the Minnesota Electronic Real Estate Recording Commission and local county recording customers, Simplifile is uniquely qualified to respond as e-recording expands in Minnesota.”
