Bb&t Adds a Guaranteed Lifetime Income Investment Option to its Suite of 401(k) Offerings

New option protects participants' retirement income

Today BB&T (NYSE: BBT) announced a new option for its 401(k) institutional offerings -- the guaranteed lifetime income investment option called ClearCourseŽ.

ClearCourse is designed to protect 401(k) plan participants from retirement risks such as outliving assets, retiring during a down market, and the effects of inflation. ClearCourse provides a guaranteed source of lifetime income.

'ClearCourse allows us to offer plan sponsors and their participants a guaranteed level of retirement income with growth potential,' said Ray McCulloch, BB&T Institutional Services Executive manager. 'Now more than ever, we see a need for products that provide participants with a sense of security through a lifetime income guarantee.'

The addition of ClearCourse is an important milestone in BB&T Institutional Services' on-going efforts to provide flexible and customized 401(k) solutions. ClearCourse is a group variable annuity issued by Genworth Life and Annuity Insurance Company and is available to BB&T's Institutional Services client companies that elect it as an investment choice for their employees.
